Event description:

​

• The competition is open to students of Grades 1 and 2.

• Each team must present one poem in English and one poem in Kannada on the same topic/theme. One participant should recite the English poem, while the other participant should recite the Kannada poem.

• The selected poems may be cultural poems, spoken word pieces, or original compositions that celebrate traditions, heritage, values, festivals, nature, and diversity.

• The poems can be from well-known poets or original compositions. 

• Participants are requested to state the title and the poet before beginning the recitation

• The presentation should be expressive and engaging. Students are encouraged to use appropriate voice modulation, facial expressions, gestures, and simple actions to bring the poems to life.

• Simple costumes, cultural attire, or props may be used to enhance the performance; however, they should support rather than overshadow the presentation.

• The content of the poems must be age-appropriate and respectful of all cultures and communities.

• Each team will be allotted a maximum of 2 minutes for the entire performance, including both the English and Kannada poems.

• Participants are expected to memorize their poems. Reading directly from a script is not permitted.

• The decision of the judges will be final and binding.
